• Description: Fibroblast Growth Factor-6 (FGF-6) is a newly discovered heparin binding growth factor that stimulates the proliferation and activation of cells that express FGF receptors.
• Supplied: Sterile filtered and the the protein was lyophilized from 10mM Tris pH 7.4 + 100mM NaCl. (no additives).
• Purity: >95% by SDS-Page and HPLC analyses. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1ng per ug (1EU/ug) of FGF-6.
• Reconstitution: The lyophilized FGF-6 should be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 0.5-1mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes at 4℃, tighten cap and rotate to reconstitute any material on sides of vial. If desired, you can centrifuge at 1000 rpm for 1 minute to concentrate volume in bottom of vial. This solution can be diluted into water or other buffered solutions or stored at 4°Cfor up to 1 week or stored at -20°Cfor future use. For most in-vitro applications,human FGF-6 exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 0.1 to 20.0 ng/ml.
• Note: If this material is not to be used for coating or labeling(or other applications requiring carrier free material), the addition of 0.1% BSA to dilution buffers or dilution in sterile culture media is recommended to enhance stability and minimize absorption to vial. Ideally, maintain concentaration <10ug/ml.
• Reactivity: The biological activity was determined by the does- dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF receptors yielding an ED50 <0.5ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >1 X 106 (1 million) units/mg.

• Storage: The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for a few weeks but it is best stored desiccated below 0°C. Reconstituted human FGF-6 should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C.
