Description : The protein encoded by this gene is a mitogen that is secreted by vascular endothelial cells. The encoded protein plays a role in chondrocyte proliferation and differentiation, cell adhesion in many cell types, and is related to platelet-derived growth factor. Certain polymorphisms in this gene have been linked with a higher incidence of systemic sclerosis.
Source : E. coli
Tissue specificity : Expressed in bone marrow and thymic cells. Also expressed one of two Wilms tumors tested.
Biological activity : Biological Activity : Determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of HUVEC cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is 1.0-2.0 μg/ml.
Form : Lyophilised
Purity : >95% by SDS-PAGE
Storage buffer : Spin down vial and reconstitute in distilled water for a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/ml.
Storage : The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at -20°C.
Sequences of amino acids : MGKKCIRTPK ISKPIKFELS GCTSMKTYRA KFCGVCTDGR CCTPHRTTTL PVEFKCPDGE VMKKNMMFIK TCACHYNCPG DNDIFESLYY RKMYGDMA
Sequence Similarities : Belongs to the CCN family.Contains 1 CTCK (C-terminal cystine knot-like) domain.Contains 1 IGFBP N-terminal domain.Contains 1 TSP type-1 domain.Contains 1 VWFC domain.
