• Description: Centrin, also knownas CETN1, is an EF-hand type Ca2+-binding protein. It is localized to thecentrosome of interphase cells, and redistributes to the region of thespindle poles during mitosis, reflecting the dynamic behavior of thecentrosome during the cell cycle. CETN1 plays an important role in thedetermination of centrosome position and segregation, and in the process ofmicrotubule severing.
