• Description: A more basic protein than Cathepsin B or L. Functions as both an aminopeptidase and endopeptidase. CTSH, like cathepsin L and B, is involved in the catabolism of proteins in the lysosomal system.
• Biological Activity: 1.96 units/mg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that hydrolyzes one μmol Arg-AFC substrate perminute at 37°C, pH 6.8, with 750 mM potassium phosphate, 1 mM EDTA and 3 mM cysteine.
