Recombinant Full Length Human glial fibrillary acidic Protein, Tag Free

Cat.No. : GFAP-31H
Product Overview : This product is identical to the human GFAP isotype I sequence in GenBank entry NP_002046.1. It is widely used as a standard in ELISA and other antibody based assays. The human GFAP protein is a little different in amino acid sequence from that of the rat protein, so a recombinant form of the rat protein is also available from EnCor, Prot-r-GFAP-rat.

Protein Length : 1-432aa
Description : This gene encodes one of the major intermediate filament proteins of mature astrocytes. It is used as a marker to distinguish astrocytes from other glial cells during development. Mutations in this gene cause Alexander disease, a rare disorder of astrocytes in the central nervous system. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
