• Description: Spectrin alpha chain, brain is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SPTAN1 gene.The spectrins are a family of widely-distributed cytoskeletal proteins which are involved in actin crosslinking. The protein enocoded by this gene is an spectrin alpha-chain which heterodimerizes with tissue-specific beta-chains.
• Purity: > 95% by SDS-PAGE. The protein was observed as a single band migrating at molecular weight of <10 kDa.
• Supplied As: 1.0mg/ml in 50mM Ammonium Acetate, pH 4.5. The concentration is calculated from the absorbance at 280nm (e280 = 15470 M-1 cm-1).
• Characteristics: Under the above described conditions, the product has been concentrated up to 2mM without observing significant precipitation and/or protein aggregation.
• Storage: -20ºC. The protein is stable at 4ºC for at least 2 weeks and at 25ºC for at least several hours. After initial defrost, aliquot product into individual tubes and refreeze at -20ºC. Avoid repeated freeze/defrost cycles.
