Description : PNLIP is a carboxylesterase that hydrolyzes insoluble, emulsified triglycerides, and isessential for the efficient digestion of dietary fats. PNLIP is secreted intothe duodenum through the duct system of the pancreas. Normally, its serumlevel is very low and as such, increased PL serum levels is used to diagnose pancreatitisor pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
