Hemoglobin is the most important respiratory protein of vertebrates by virtue of its ability to transport oxygen from the lungs to body tissues, and to facilitate the return transport of carbon dioxide.

• Applications: Hemoglobin A0 was used to see how coronary intraplaque hemorrhage evokes a novel atheroprotective macrophage phenotype. It was used inthe determination of fetal hemoglobin by time-resolved immunofluorometric assay. It is suitable for electrophoresis and chromatographystandard (has not been tested for functional equivalence against native preparations (unlyophilized ferrous hemoglobins).)

• Reconstitution: When reconstituted with buffer, gives >85% ferrous hemoglobin.
