• Description: Thermolysin is a zinc protease that can be used to activate a number of proteases. Its activity can be inhibited by phosphoramidon, 1,10-phenanthroline or EDTA.
• Species: Geobacillus stearothermophilus
• Bio-activity: Measured by its ability to cleave the fluorogenic peptide substrate, Mca-RPPGFSAFK(Dnp)-OH. The specific activity is >12,000 pmol/min/μg, as measured with 10 μM ES005 and 2 ng enzyme in 100 μL of 50 mM Tris, 10 mM CaCl2, 0.15 M NaCl, 0.05% Brij 35, pH 7.5.
