Description : | Purified MAL I+II is conjugated to ferritin, that has a molecular weight of 474,000 g/mol (all 24 subunits combined). Coupled ferritin lectins can be used as a cytochemical marker for ultrastructural localization of specific saccharide moieties. Ferritin-conjugated lectins (Fer-lectins) have been widely used to examine alterations in the topographical distribution of plasma membrane glycoproteins resulting from malignant transformation, lectin-induced cytoagglutination, digestion with enzymes or treatment with cytoskeletal disrupting drugs. Fer-lectins prepared by different methods of conjugation could result in cell-specific differences in the density or distribution of surface-bound Fer-lectins. This product comes in a stabilized liquid form. |
