Antigen Description : NANS (Sialic acidssynthease) is an enzyme that functions in the biosynthetic pathways of sialicacids. Expressed ubiquitously, NANS enzymatically catalyzes the H2O-dependentformation of N-acetylneuraminic acid (Neu5Ac) and2-keto-3-deoxy-D-glycero-D-galacto-nononic acid (KDN), both of which aresialic acids. NANS uses N-acetylmannosamine 6-phosphate as a substrate forNeu5Ac synthesis and mannose 6-phosphate as a substrate for KDN synthesis.
Immunogen : Recombinant human NANS(1-359aa) purified from E. coli.

Usage : The antibodyhas been tested by ELISA, Western blot analysis to assure specificity andreactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should betitrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution rangefor Western blot analysis is 1:1000.
Storage : Can bestored at +4°C. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or -70°C.Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.
