Species : Bovine
Tag : Non
Background : CD2 (cluster of differentiation 2) is a cell adhesion molecule found on the surface of T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. It has also been called T-cell surface antigen T11/Leu-5, LFA-2, LFA-3 receptor, erythrocyte receptor and rosette receptor.
Cell Line Description : The antibody is directed against Bo CD2, the bovine equivalent of human CD2. It shows species cross-reactivity with goat.
Depositor : Dr J Naessens, ILRAD, Nairobi, Kenya
Immunogen : Bovine cytotoxic T cells
Immunological Donor : BALB/c mouse spleen
Fusion Species : Mouse X Mouse Hybridoma
Myeloma : P3x63Ag8.653
Growth properties : Suspension
Propagation : Complete growth medium: RPMI 1640 + 2mM glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) Atmosphere: air, 95%; carbon dioxide (CO2), 5% Temperature: 37.0 °C
Subculturing : Maintain cultures between 3-9x10^5 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37 °C. These cells may require mouse macrophage feeder cells upon resuscitation.
Mycoplasma : Mycoplasma Status: Negative (MycoAlert Kit)
Reactivity : Anti-CD2, bovine
Isotype : IgG2a
Target : CD2
Application : Enumeration of bovine lymphocyte populations
Storage : Liquid nitrogen
Safety Considerations : The following safety precautions should be observed.1. Use pipette aids to prevent ingestion and keep aerosols down to a minimum.2. No eating, drinking or smoking while handling the hybridoma.3. Wash hands after handling the stable line and before leaving the lab.4. Decontaminate work surface with disinfectant or 70% ethanol before and after working with hybridoma.5. All waste should be considered hazardous.6. Dispose of all liquid waste after each experiment and treat with bleach.
