Most of these carriers are produced using 293 series cells (such as HEK293, 293T, etc.), which results in residual DNA from 293 series cells being present as impurities in the final product of the carrier. Due to the stability of host cell DNA, residues are easily generated during the production process, and the application of these biological products in the treatment of human diseases can bring uncontrollable risk factors. Therefore, host nucleic acid residue is a mandatory item of various quality control standards and must comply with the regulatory requirements of the World Health Organization, FDA, and China NMPA to ensure that host nucleic acid residue is within a safe and controllable range.
