• Product Overview: Ready-to-use positive control lysates are derived from bacterial strains, cell lines or tissues using highly refined extraction protocols to ensure exceptionally high quality, protein integrity and lot-to-lot reproducibility. All extracts are tested by SDS-PAGE using 4-20% gradient gels and immunoblot analysis using antibodies to the relevant epitope(s) that confirm the presence of the protein(s) of interest. This product is intended as a positive control for use with anti-APG8 antibodies.

• Specificity: Following induction for expression of the recombinant protein, E. coli culture was pelleted by centrifugation and resuspended in lysis buffer containing protease inhibitors. The cells were lysed using enzymatic lysis and sonication. The insoluble fraction of the lysate was subsequently separated from the soluble fraction using centrifugation and a sample of the soluble fraction was used to determine protein concentration by Lowry assay with a commercially available kit. The protein concentration was adjusted to 2 mg/mL and then an equal volume of 2× SDS-PAGE sample buffer was added.
