Species : | Mouse |
Source : | E.coli |
ProteinLength : | 181 amino acid |
Description : | Enables cytokine activity and growth factor activity. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including animal organ development; generation of neurons; and positive regulation of macromolecule metabolic process. Located in extracellular space. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; cranium; early conceptus; and female reproductive system. Orthologous to human LIF (LIF interleukin 6 family cytokine). |
Bio-activity : | Mouse LIF activity is assessed by its ability to induce differentiation of M1 myeloid leukemia cells. The specific activity is 1 × 10^6 units/ml and 1 × 10^7 units/ml, where 50 units is defined as the amount of mouse LIF required to induce differentiation in 50% of the M1 colonies in 1 mL of medium. |
Molecular Mass : | 20 kDa |
Endotoxin : | < 0.01 ng/μg cytokine as determined by the LAL assay |
Purity : | > 98% by SDS-PAGE |
Usage : | 1 ml of mouse LIF with the specific activity of 1x106 units/ml is sufficient to treat 1 L of embryonic stem cell culture media. 1 mL of mouse LIF with the specific activity of 1x107 units/ml is sufficient to treat 10 L of embryonic stem cell culture media. |
Storage : | It is stable for 6 to 12 months at 2-4 centigrade in original formulation. For extended storage, it is recommended to store in working aliquots at -20 to -80 centigrade. Freeze-thaw should be avoided as it can result in loss of activity. |
Storage Buffer : | 1×phosphate-buffered saline with 0.02% Tween-20. Sterile filtered through a 0.2 micron filter. |
Shipping : | This product is shipped at ambient temperature with cold pack. |
