Description : Epgn is aneipthelial mitogen that belongs to the EGF superfamily. Mouse Epgn cDNA encodesa 153 amino acid (aa) residue type I transmembrane precursor protein with a18 aa putative signal peptide, a 92 aa extracellular domain, a 20 aa transmembranedomain and a 22 aa cytoplasmic domain. Expression of mouse Epgn has beendetected in multiple tissues including testis, liver and heart. Over theentire protein, mouse Epgn shares fromapproximately 23% to 33% sequence homology with other EGF family members. Thefunctional internal peptide containing the EGF motif however is more than 40%homologous with that of TGFα and epiregulin. A human cDNA clone encoding amouse epigenlike protein has also been identified.
Form : Lyophilizedfrom a 0.2 um filtered solution in PBS with BSA as a carrier protein.
N-terminalSequence : Leu53
MolecularWeight : 5.9 kDa
Activity : Measuredin a cell proliferation assay using Balb/3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblasts. TheED50 for this effect is typically 50 150 ng/mL.
Endotoxin Level : <1.0EU per 1 μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Purity : >97%,by SDSPAGE under reducing conditions and visualized by silver stain.
Reconstitution : Reconstituteat 100μg/mL in sterile PBS containing at least 0.1% human or bovine serumalbumin.
Storage : Use amanual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freezethaw cycles. 12 months from date of receipt, 20 to 70°C as supplied. 1 month,2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution. 3 months, 20 to 70°Cunder sterile conditions after reconstitution.
