Source : | E. coli |
Species : | Human |
Tag : | His |
Form : | The protein is supplied as a lyophilized powder. |
Bio-activity : | Biological activity of the protein is determined by demonstrating that in GTP bound RN01 associates with RanBP1 protein while the GDP bound form of RN01 does not associate with the RanBBP1. |
Molecular Mass : | The protein is 31kD (but will run between 30-36 kDa on a 12% acrylamide gel). |
Purity : | Purity is determined by scanning densitometry of proteins on SDS-PAGE gels. His-Ran samples are >90% pure. |
Applications : | Ran biochemistry;Ran GTPase assays;Ran nucleotide exchange assays;Ran binding studies; |
Storage : | Stable at 4 centigrade for 1 year as a lyophilized powder. Once reconsttuted as a 1 mg/ml solution the protein can be stored at -70 centigrade for 6 months. For frozen storage we recommend that the protein be supplemented with DTT to 1 mM final concentration, aliquoted into “experiment sized” amounts and snap frozen in liquid nitrogen. We do not recommend freeze-thawing of the protein. |
Reconstitution : | When it is reconstituted in distilled water to 1 mg/ml, the protein is in the following buffer: 1.4 mM Tris pH 7.5, 0.28 mM MgCl2, 0.28% sucrose, 0.07% dextran. |
