• Description: Ly6/PLAUR domain containing 8 (LYPD8), is a GPI-linked protein with structural similarity to the urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR). Mature human LYPD8 contains one uPAR/Ly6 domain and a Ser/Thr/Pro-rich (STP) region that may serve as a target for protease mediated shedding as has been shown for the related C4.4A/LYPD3 molecule. Mature human LYPD8 shares 40% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and rat LYPD8.
