Description : The galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins implicated in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. Differential and in situ hybridization studies indicate that this lectin is specifically expressed in keratinocytes and found mainly in stratified squamous epithelium. A duplicate copy of this gene (GeneID:653499) is found adjacent to, but on the opposite strand on chromosome 19.
Form : Lyophilized protein
Bio-activity : Measured by its ability to agglutinate human red blood cells. The ED?? for the effect is typically 1-7 μg/ml.
Molecular Mass : 15.4 kDa
Endotoxin : <0.1>
Purity : ≥98% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC.
Usage : For Research Use Only! Not to be used in humans.
Storage : -20°C
Reconstitution : Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
Shipping : Blue ice
