Description : This gene encodes a member of the cyclin-dependent protein kinase (CDK) family. CDK family members are known to be important regulators of cell cycle progression. This kinase and its regulatory subunit, cyclin C, are components of the Mediator transcriptional regulatory complex, involved in both transcriptional activation and repression by phosphorylation of the carboxy-terminal domain of the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II. This kinase regulates transcription by targeting the cyclin-dependent kinase 7 subunits of the general transcription initiation factor IIH, thus providing a link between the Mediator complex and the basal transcription machinery. Multiple pseudogenes of this gene have been identified. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]
Form : Liquid
Bio-activity : The activity was determined by ELISA. The enzyme was incubated with biotinylated substrate protein, and after stopping kinase reaction by EDTA, the reaction solution was transferred into streptavidin- coated plate. Phosphorylation was detected by anti-phospho antibody and HRP-labeled anti-rabbit IgG.
Substrate: RNA polymerase peptide. ATP: 100 μM.
Molecular Mass : 80 kDa
Purity : 91 % by SDS-PAGE/CBB staining
Applications : Functional Study
SDS-PAGE
Storage : Store at -80 centigrade. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Storage Buffer : In 50 mM Tris-HCl, 150 mM NaCl, pH 7.5 (0.1% CHAPS, 1 mM DTT, 10% glycerol)
