• Bio-activity: 1. Measured by its ability to bind biotinylated GP140-His in a functional ELISA. 2. Measured by the ability of the immobilized protein to support the adhesion of NIH-3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cells. When 5×10^4 cells/well are added to CD4-coated plates (0.8 μg/mL and 100 μl/well), approximately >50 % will adhere specifically after 30 minutes at 37°C.
• Molecular Mass: The secreted recombinant human CD4 (aa 1-208) consists of 194 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 21.7 kDa. In SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, the apparent molecular mass of rhCD4 is approximately 26 kDa.
• Endotoxin: < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method
• Purity: > 94 % as determined by SDS-PAGE
• Storage: Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
• Reconstitution: It is recommended that sterile water be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of 0.2 ug/ul. Centrifuge the vial at 4°C before opening to recover the entire contents.
