Cat. No. : IFNG-61B
Description : Interferon-gamma (IFN-γ, also known as Type II interferon or immune interferon) is a cytokine produced primarily by T-lymphocytes and natural killer cells. The protein shares no significant homology with IFN-β or the various IFN-α family proteins. Mature IFN-γ exists as noncovalently-linked homodimers. Human IFN-γ is highly species specific and is biologically active only in human and primate cells. IFN-γ was originally characterized based on its antiviral activities.
Source : Yeast.
Formulation/ Reconstitution : Lyophilized. Reconstitute with sterile phosphate-buffered saline containing at least 0.1% carrier protein.
Purification : Ion-exchange chromatography.
Purity : >95% as visualized by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Amino Acid Sequence : QGQFFREIEN LKEYFNASSP DVAKGGPLFS EILKNWKDES DKKIIQSQIV SFYFKLFENL KDNQVIQRSM DIIKQDMFQK FLNGSSEKLE DFKKLIQIPV DDLQIQRKAI NELIKVMNDL SPKSNLRKRK RSQNLFRGRR AST.
Bioactivity : The biological activity was measured in a cell activation assay using the Griess reaction as an indicator of nitric oxide production by bovine PBMC. The ED50 for this effect is typically 50 - 60 ug/ml.
Stability And Storage : Stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20°C. Stable for at least 3 months when stored in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
