Source : | Yeast |
Description : | Galactose-1-phosphate uridyltransferase (GALT) facilitates the simultaneous conversion of uridine diphosphoglucose (UDP-glucose) and galactose-1-phosphate (gal-1P) to uridine diphosphogalactose (UDP-galactose) and glucose-1-phosphate. Classic Galactosemia (CG) is an inherited metabolic condition caused by deficiency of GALT activity. |
Form : | Lyophilized powder |
Bio-activity : | 20-60 units/mg protein (modified Warburg-Christian) |
Purity : | Protein, 15-35% |
Unit Definition : | One unit will form 1.0 μmole of glucose 1-phosphate from UDP-glucose, galactose 1-phosphate and NADP+ per min at pH 8.7 at 25 centigrade as detected by a coupled system using phosphoglucomutase. |
Storage : | At −20 centigrade. |
Storage Buffer : | Contains buffer salts as citrate and reduced glutathione |
