Description : EPH receptor A5 (EPHA5) is a glycoprotein that is expressed by astrocytes and skeletal muscle. It provides guidance cues for retinal ganglion cells and is essential for proper retinal axon guidance and topographic mapping in the mammalian visual system. Ephrin A5 serves as a general inhibitor of axonal growth from limbic neurons. It also plays a role in motor axon outgrowth and pathfinding to the hindlimb.
Molecular Weight : The predicted molecular weight of Recombinant Rat EphA5 is Mr 84 kDa. However, the actual molecular weight as observed by migration on SDS Page is Mr 110 kDa.
State Of Matter : Lyophilized.
Purity : >95% by SDS Page and analyzed by silver stain.
Endotoxin : <0.1 ng per 1 µg as determined by the LAL method.
Storage And Stability : The lyophilized protein should be stored desiccated at -20°C. The reconstituted protein can be stored for at least one week at 4°C. For long-term storage of the reconstituted protein, aliquot into working volumes and store at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.
