• Description: EPH receptor A5 (EPHA5) is a glycoprotein that is expressed by astrocytes and skeletal muscle. It provides guidance cues for retinal ganglion cells and is essential for proper retinal axon guidance and topographic mapping in the mammalian visual system. Ephrin A5 serves as a general inhibitor of axonal growth from limbic neurons. It also plays a role in motor axon outgrowth and pathfinding to the hindlimb.
