• Description: Kitlg is astromal cell-derived cytokine synthesized by fibroblasts and other celltypes. Kitlg promotes proliferation and early differentiation of cells at thelevel of multipotential stem cells. It has been suggested that Kitlg isessential for optimal production of various hematopoietic lineages, mainlybecause of its ability to prevent apoptosis when it co-stimulates with othercytokines. The receptor for Kitlg, designated SCFR(CD117), is the oncogenedesignated as KIT.

• Molecular Weight: Native Mouse Stem Cell Factor is generatedby the proteolytic removal of the signal peptide and propeptide, the moleculehas a calculated molecular mass of approximately 18 kDa.
• Biological Activity: TheED(50) was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferationof human TF-1 cells is ≤ 2.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of ≥5 x 105 units/mg.
• Endotoxin: Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clotmethod. Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg).
• Reconstitution: A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitutionin distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. Thissolution can then be diluted into other buffers.
