Description : TAF1 is a DNA-binding protein complex required for RNA polymerase II-mediated transcription of many, if not all, protein-encoding genes in eukaryotic cells. TAF1 plays a key role in the initiation process, since it binds to the TATA element to form a complex that nucleates the assembly of the other components into a preinitiation complex and that may be stable through multiple rounds of transcription. TAF1 may be targeted to specific chromatin-bound promoters and may play a key role in chromatin recognition (1). TAF1 also serves to link the control of transcription to the cell cycle.
Form : Recombinant protein stored in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 50mM NaCl, 10mM glutahione, 0.1mM EDTA, 0.25mM DTT, 0.1mM PMSF, 25% glycerol.
Molecular Mass : ~155 kDa
Purity : The purity of TAF1 was determined to be >70% by densitometry.
Applications : Western Blot
Stability : 1 yr At -70oC from date of shipment.
Storage : Store product at –70oC. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Concentration : 0.1 ug/ul
