Description : SET and MYND domain-containing protein 1 (Smyd1) is a member of the Smyd family of histone methyltransferases that possesses H3K4 methyltransferase activity. It has also been shown to act as a transcriptional repressor. Studies suggest that Smyd1 may play a critical role in cardiomyocyte differentiation and cardiac morphogenesis and that it also may have a function in skeletal muscle development.
Form : 20 mM Tris-HCl pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl and 20% glycerol.
Bio-activity : Not known. May methylate non-histone substrates.
Applications : Enzyme kinetics, inhibitor screening, and selectivity profiling.
Storage : Recombinant proteins in solution are temperature sensitive and must be stored at -80°C to prevent degradation. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.
Concentration : 0.4 mg/ml
