• Description: Beta-microseminoprotein is a member of the immunoglobulin binding factor family. This protein has been reported to have inhibin-like properties, though this finding has been disputed. It may have a role as an autocrine paracrine factor in uterine, breast and other female reproductive tissues. The protein inhibits growth of cancer cells in an experimental model of prostate cancer.
