• Description: Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) consists of two subunits linked by a disulfide bond. The alpha subunit of HGF has a length of 440 amino acids and the beta subunit has a length of 234 amino acids. Both subunits of HGF are obtained by endoproteolytic cleavage of a common preproprotein which itself is biologically inactive.

• Formulation: When reconstituted in 0.5 ml sterile phosphate-buffered saline, the solution will contain 1% human serum albumin (HSA) and 10% trehalose.
• Reconstitution: It is recommended that 0.5 ml of sterile phosphate-buffered saline be added to the vial.
• Storage: Lyophilised products should be stored at 2 to 8°C.
• Activity: The ED₅₀of HGF is typically 20 - 40 ng/ml as measured in a cell proliferation assay using the human HepG2 cell line.
