Description : CEBPA is a proteinthat in humans is encoded by the CEBPA gene. The protein encoded by thisintronless gene is a bZIP transcription factor which can bind as a homodimerto certain promoters and enhancers. It can also form heterodimers with therelated proteins CEBP-beta and CEBP-gamma. The encoded protein has been shownto bind to the promoter and modulate the expression of the gene encodingleptin, a protein that plays an important role in body weight homeostasis. Also, the encoded protein can interact with CDK2 and CDK4, thereby inhibitingthese kinases and causing growth arrest in cultured cells.
Form : Sterilefiltered liquid in 20 mM Tris-HCl, pH7.5 + 0.1 M NaCl + 5 mM β-mercaptoethanol.
Molecular Weight : 16.5 kDa
Purity : > 95% asdetermined by RP-HPLC and SDS-PAGE analyses
Endotoxin Level : < 0.1 ng/µg ofCEBPA gamma
Storage : Store at 2-4°C forup to 4 weeks or in working aliquots at -20°C for longer storage. Add a carrierprotein (0.1% HSA or BSA) as a stabilizer for long term storage. Please notethat the addition of any carrier protein into this product may produceunwanted endotoxin. This depends upon the particular application employed.Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
