Description : | CEBPA is a proteinthat in humans is encoded by the CEBPA gene. The protein encoded by thisintronless gene is a bZIP transcription factor which can bind as a homodimerto certain promoters and enhancers. It can also form heterodimers with therelated proteins CEBP-beta and CEBP-gamma. The encoded protein has been shownto bind to the promoter and modulate the expression of the gene encodingleptin, a protein that plays an important role in body weight homeostasis. Also, the encoded protein can interact with CDK2 and CDK4, thereby inhibitingthese kinases and causing growth arrest in cultured cells. |
Form : | Sterilefiltered liquid in 20 mM Tris-HCl, pH7.5 + 0.1 M NaCl + 5 mM β-mercaptoethanol. |
Molecular Weight : | 16.5 kDa |
Purity : | > 95% asdetermined by RP-HPLC and SDS-PAGE analyses |
