• Description: AnnexinIII (ANXA3), otherwise known as Lipocortin III, is a calcium-dependentphospholipid-binding protein and member of the annexin family, which acts asan inhibitor of phospholipase A2, and is involved in the cleavage of inositol1, 2 cyclic phosphate to form inositol 1 phosphate. Studies have shown thatquantification of ANXA3 in patient urine can be used as a novel non-invasivebiomarker for prostatic cancer, complementary to prostate specific antigen.
