Rat Albumin
Cat.No. : | Alb-4785R |
Product Overview : | Product is the lyophilized powder of rat albumin Fraction V and buffer salts. Rat albumin Fraction V is purified from pooled rat serum using multi-step procedures which may include salt fractionation, gel filtration, ion-exchange chromatography and immunoabsorption. The product is dialyzed into 0.01M sodium phosphate, 0.07M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, filtered through a 0.22 µm filter, vialed and lyophilized. No preservative has been added. |

Description : | Alb refers generally to any protein that is water soluble, which is moderately soluble in concentrated salt solutions, and experiences heat denaturation. They are commonly found in blood plasma, and are unique to other plasma proteins in that they are not glycosylated. Substances containing albumin, such as egg white, are called albuminoids. |
Specifications : | The product is tested for purity at a minimum of 20 mg/ml using immunoelectrophoresis. The product is rat albumin Fraction V; no trace of immunoglobulins is detected. The total protein is determined using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as the standard. Each vial is overfilled by approximately 10 percent so that a minimum of 50 mg of rat albumin Fraction V is obtained upon reconstitution. |
Reconstitution : | Reconstitute product with 3 ml of deionized or distilled water. Gentle swirling may be used to speed rehydration. Avoid vigorous shaking of the reconstituted material. |
Storage : | Store unopened product at 2-8°C. Store reconstituted material no longer than a few days at 2-8°C unless sodium azide is added. For long-term storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C. |
Pathways : | Bile acid and bile salt metabolism; Formation of Platelet plug; HDL-mediated lipid transport; Hemostasis; Lipid digestion; Lipoprotein metabolism; Metabolism of lipids and lipoproteins; Platelet Activation; Platelet degranulation; Recycling of bile acids and salts; SLC-mediated transmembrane transport; Transmembrane transport of small molecules; Transport of organic anions |
