α-Mannosidase Assay Kit
Cat.No. : | Kit-2079 |
Product Overview : | The nonradioactive, colorimetric AMA assay is based on the cleavage of 4- nitrophenol from the synthetic substrate. Nitrophenol becomes intensely colored after addition of the stop reagent. The increase in absorbance at 405 nm after addition of the stop reagent is directly proportional to the enzyme activity. |

Description : | α-MANNOSIDASE (AMA) is an enzyme which catalyzes the cleavage of the alpha form of mannose. α-Mannosidase assists in the breakdown of complex sugars from glycoproteins in the lysosome. Defective AMA or deficient AMA activity causes α-mannosidosis and leads to deterioration of the central nervous system in children. |
Applications : | For quantitative determination of α-mannosidase enzyme activity using a p-nitrophenol based substrate. |
Storage : | The kit is shipped at room temperature. Store all components at 4°C upon receiving. Shelf life: 6 months after receipt. |
Kit Components : | Substrate: 10 mLStop Reagent: 12 mLStandard: 1 mL 12.5 mM Nitrophenol |
Detection method : | OD405nm |
Compatible Sample Types : | Biological samples e.g. plasma, serum, tissue and culture media. |
Features & Benefits : | • Fast and sensitive. Linear detection range (10 μL sample): 1 to 250 U/L for a 10 minute reaction. • Convenient and high-throughput. Homogeneous "mix-incubate-measure" type assay. Can be readily automated on HTS liquid handlingsystems for processing thousands of samples per day. |
