• Product Overview: Silver stain is the protein detection method based on polyacrylamide gel, The principle is that the silver ions are reduced to metal silver in an alkaline conditions, which deposite on the surface of the protein and form visible staining under an optical microscope. Compared to coomassie staining, silver staining has a very high sensitivity, capable of detecting proteins at levels below 1ng. The traditional silver staining process is complicated and requires high reagent configuration. The kit is designed for rapid silver stain detection and requires only simple operation to complete protein detection. Because of its high sensitivity, silver staining can be used for the detection of low abundance proteins, such as the study of interacting proteins in endogenous GST-Pull down, Co-IP and other experiments.
