• Description: Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is a glycoprotein present in fetal digestive-tract tissues; it"s involved in cell adhesion. The production of CEA stops before birth. CEA is called tumor marker since its elevated levels are found in the serum from individuals with colorectal, gastric, pancreatic, lung and breast carcinomas and in heavy smokers.

• Applications: Suitable as an immunogen for antisera production, tracer for iodination and standard for immunoassay. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
• Storage: Upon receipt, store at -20℃.
• Warnings: This product contains sodium azide, which has been classified as Xn (Harmful), in European Directive 67/548/EEC in the concentration range of 0.1 - 1.0 %. When disposing of this reagent through lead or copper plumbing, flush with copious volumes of water to prevent azide build-up in drains. A blood sample from the tissue donor tested negative for HIV 1, HIV 2, HCV antibodies and HBsAg. No test guarantees a product to be non-infectious. Therefore, all material derived from human fluids or tissues should be considered as potentially infectious.
