• Description: Recombinant Mouse Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (rM TNF-α) is secreted by macrophages, monocytes, neutrophils, T-cells, NK-cells following their stimulation by bacterial LPS. TNF-α causes cytolysis and cytostasis of many tumor cell lines in vitro. It also enhances phagocytosis and cytotoxicity in neutrophilic granulocytes and modulates the expression of many other proteins. Cells expressing CD4 secrete TNF-α while CD8 cells secrete little or no TNF-alpha.
• Form: Each mg contains 50mM Tris-HCL (pH 8) and 20mM sodium chloride.
• Bio-activity: rM TNF-alpha is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The ED50 as determined by the cytolysis of mouse L929 cells in the presence of Actinomycin D is less than 0.05ng/ml.
