• Description: Prothymosins are small polypeptides present in animal tissues. They are named thymosins because they were originally isolated from the thymus, but most are now known to be found in many other tissues. Prothymosins have diverse biological activities and two in particular, thymosins α1 and β4, have potentially important uses in medicine and have progressed from the laboratory to the clinic.

• Activity: In-Vivo Mouse protection assay was employed. Mice treated daily with 80-640 ng/mouse of Thymosin Alpha, and challenged with 40,000 cells of C. albicans at day 3. Decreased C./albicans count obserned in mice protected with Thymosin Alpha-1.
• Storage: Purified Thymosin Alpha-1 factor is provided lyophilized in deionized water. Quick-spin for 30 seconds before reconstitution in 0.5 mL sterile or distilled water. Store aliquots frozen at -20℃. Avoid repeat freeze-thaw.
