Description : | Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 8, also known as monocyte chemoattractant protein 2 (MCP-2), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CCL8 gene. CCL8 is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family. The CCL8 protein is produced as a precursor containing 109 amino acids, which is cleaved to produce mature CCL8 containing 75 amino acids. |
Form : | Lyophilized with no additives. |
Purity : | Purity Greater than 98% as determined by: Analysis by RP-HPLC. Reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. |
Bio-activity : | MCP-2 is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The specific activity as determined by the ability of MCP-2to chemoattract human peripheral blood at 10-100ng/ml. |
Physical Appearance : | Sterile Filtered white lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. |
Solubility : | It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized product with sterile water at a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml, which can be further diluted into other aqueous solutions. |
Purity Greater than 98% as determined by : | Analysis by RP-HPLC. Reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. |
Protein Content determined by : | UV spectroscopy at 280 nm. Analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard. |
Amino acid sequence : | GPDKAPVTCC FHVLKLKIPL RVLKSYERIN NIQCPMEAVVQTKQGMSLC VDPTQKWVSE YMEILDQKSQ ILQP |
Storage : | Lyophilized product is very stable at -20 degrees. Reconstituted material should be aliquoted and frozen at -20. It is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage. |
