Description : The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored neuronal membrane protein that functions as a cell adhesion molecule. It may play a role in the formation of axon connections in the developing nervous system. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined.
Molecular Mass : 110.1 kDa.
Purity : > 97%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and visualized by silver stain.
Activity : Measured by its ability to enhance neurite outgrowth of E18 rat embryonic cortical neurons. Able to significantly enhance neurite outgrowth when immobilized as a 3 μL droplet containing 400 ng on a nitrocellulosecoated microplate.
Endotoxin : < 0.1 ng per 1 mg of the cytokine as determined by the LAL method.
Format : Lyophilized from a 0.2 mm filtered solution in PBS.
Reconstitution : Reconstitute at 100 μg/mL in sterile PBS.
Storage : The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below. 12 months from date of receipt, 20 to 70 °C as supplied. 1 month, 2 to 8 °C under sterile conditions after reconstitution. 3 months, 20 to 70 °C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
