Description : NCC-4 (also known as HCC-4) is a CC chemokine. It is a 97 amino acid protein. It exhibits less than 30% sequence identity to other CC chemokines. NCC-4 chemoattracts human monocytes and THP-1 cells. However it does not chemoattract resting lymphocytes or neutrophils. It has been found to supress proliferation of myeloid progenitor cells and induces calcium flux in THP-1 cells. This calcium flux can be desensitized by exposure to RANTES which suggests that NCC-4 and RANTES share the same receptor in THP-1 cells.
Form : Lyophilized
Bio-activity : Activity measured by the protein's ability to chemoattract THP-1 cells. ED50 for this activity is 0.5-3 μg/ml.
Applications : Activity Assay
Storage : Product should be stored at -20°C. Aliquot to avoid freeze/thaw cycles
Reconstitution : Recommended reconstitution in sterile phosphate buffered saline which contains at least 0.1% human or bovine serum albumin to prepare a stocksolution of no less than 20 μg/ml and vortex thoroughly.
