GOT1
-
Official Full Name
glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase 1, soluble (aspartate aminotransferase 1) -
Overview
Aspartate aminotransferase, cytoplasmic is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the GOT1 gene. Glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase is a pyridoxal phosphate-dependent enzyme which exists in cytoplasmic and mitochondrial forms, GOT1 and GOT2, respectively. -

Protein Function
GOT1 has several biochemical functions, for example, L-aspartate:2-oxoglutarate aminotransferase activity,L-cysteine:2-oxoglutarate aminotransferase activity,L-phenylalanine:2-oxoglutarate aminotransferase activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by GOT1 itself. We selected most functions GOT1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with GOT1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
