CHRM5

  • Official Full Name

    cholinergic receptor, muscarinic 5
  • Overview

The muscarinic acetylcholine receptor M5 is a member of the GPCR family (subfamily, acetylcholine) which mediates various cellular responses, including inhibition of adenylate cyclase, breakdown of phosphoinositides and modulation of potassium channels through the action of G proteins. The rimary transducing effect is PI turnover. The receptor has been reported to be expressed in blood, brain, and ovary. ESTs have been isolated from human testis and placenta libraries.
  • Synonyms

    CHRM5;cholinergic receptor, muscarinic 5;HM5;MGC41838;muscarinic acetylcholine receptor M5;OTTHUMP00000159731

    Protein Function

CHRM5 has several biochemical functions, for example, G-protein coupled acetylcholine receptor activity, phosphatidylinositol phospholipase C activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by CHRM5 itself. We selected most functions CHRM5 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with CHRM5. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

    Interacting Protein

CHRM5 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with CHRM5 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of CHRM5.
