MAPRE1
-
Official Full Name
microtubule-associated protein, RP/EB family, member 1 -
Overview
End binding protein 1 and may play a part in regulation of microtubule dynamics in the mammalian cells. EB1 could also play a role in the regulation of microtubule assembly and stability. EB1 is essential for proper cilia assembly in fibroblasts. EB1 has been shown to excite spontaneous nucleation and microtubule growth. APC gene mutation and the loss of negatively regulating WNT signaling is thought to play a role in the proliferation changes of cancer. The loss of association with EB1 could contribute to the development of certain cancers. -

Protein Function
MAPRE1 has several biochemical functions, for example, microtubule plus-end binding, poly(A) RNA binding, protein C-terminus binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by MAPRE1 itself. We selected most functions MAPRE1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with MAPRE1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
