GSTP1
-
Official Full Name
glutathione S-transferase pi 1 -
Overview
Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) are a family of isoenzymes that detoxify electrophiles through conjugation to thiol-reduced glutathione (GSH). Thus, they are critical in protecting cells from toxins (drugs, pesticides, carcinogens) and oxidative stress -

Protein Function
GSTP1 has several biochemical functions, for example, JUN kinase binding,S-nitrosoglutathione binding,dinitrosyl-iron complex binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by GSTP1 itself. We selected most functions GSTP1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with GSTP1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
