ASF1A
-
Official Full Name
ASF1 anti-silencing function 1 homolog A -
Overview
ASF1 was first identified in S. cerevisiae based on its ability to de-repress transcriptional silencing when overexpressed (1). While only one gene exists in yeast and Drosophila, mammalian cells contain the two highly homologous ASF1A and ASF1B genes (2) -

Protein Function
ASF1A has several biochemical functions, for example, chromatin binding, histone binding, protein binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by ASF1A itself. We selected most functions ASF1A had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with ASF1A. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
