HLA-DPA1
-
Official Full Name
major histocompatibility complex, class II, DP alpha 1 -
Overview
HLA-DPA1 belongs to the HLA class II alpha chain paralogues. This class II molecule is a heterodimer consisting of an alpha (DPA) and a beta (DPB) chain, both anchored in the membrane. It plays a central role in the immune system by presenting peptides derived from extracellular proteins. Class II molecules are expressed in antigen presenting cells. The alpha chain is approximately 33-35 kDa and its gene contains 5 exons. -

Protein Function
HLA-DPA1 has several biochemical functions, for example, MHC class II receptor activity, peptide antigen binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by HLA-DPA1 itself. We selected most functions HLA-DPA1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with HLA-DPA1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
