ACTN4
-
Official Full Name
actinin, alpha 4 -
Overview
The two major cytoskeletal proteins implicated in cell motility are actin and myosin. There are three a-actin (skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle), one b-actin (b ?nonmuscle), and two y-actins (y-smooth nuscle and y-nonmuscle). Antibody to b-actin provides a specific and useful tool in studying the intracellular distribution of b-actin and the static and dynamic aspects of the cytoskeleton. -

Protein Function
ACTN4 has several biochemical functions, for example, RNA polymerase II regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding, actin binding, actin filament binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by ACTN4 itself. We selected most functions ACTN4 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with ACTN4. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
