To perform single channel functional measurements on the P2X7 protein, there are several requirements that need to be considered: 1. Purification of the P2X7 protein: The P2X7 protein needs to be purified to ensure that only the target protein is inserted into the artificial bilayer membrane for measurements. This typically involves expression and purification of the protein from a suitable expression system such as mammalian cells or bacteria. 2. Protein stability: The P2X7 protein needs to be stable in order to maintain its structure and function during the insertion process and measurements.
