NKX3-1
-
Official Full Name
NK3 homeobox 1 -
Overview
The Nkx3.1 gene is an androgen regulated prostate-specific homeobox gene, located on chromosome 8p21. In mice the homologue Nkx3.1 is exclusively expressed in prostate epithelium. In humans, Nkx3.1 expression is also restricted to the prostate. Many data show that Nkx3.1 expression is highly, but not exclusively, specific for the prostate. -
