GlaxoSmithKline’s Scientific Study Data was Questioned

      There are always rumors and scandals. This time the “scandal” spread to scientific community and made GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) becoming the major topic of this week as a panel discusses the potential risks of the questioned drug.

      GSK, the London-based drug giant recently has conducted investigation internally on its issued research study data. The data was accused to be fraudulent in a scientific paper published three years ago in Nature Medicine. The focus concentrated on the activity of the interleukin-7 protein in auto immune disease, on the line.

      Now GSK has sidelined at least one staff.

      “We can acknowledge that we are carrying out an internal investigation into alleged issues related to a scientific paper. As you know, we take such matters very seriously--the integrity of our research is critical to our work and we are doing whatever is required to investigate these matters fully," Glaxo employees wrote in a memo.

      The investigation undergoes and GSK will reveal more information once the investigation completes. Many customers and patients as well as readers must care much on this matter.
